Answers to all your questions about the Copenhagen Card - Discover and Hop. The card is digital: load it into the app using your Order Code and activate it when you arrive in Copenhagen.
Purchase & Price
How much does the Copenhagen Card cost?+
Prices are tiered by duration, from the 24-hour card to the 120-hour card. Children aged 3 to 11 travel at the child rate, and those aged 12 to 15 at the junior rate. You'll find the current price for each option on the Prices page.
Where and how do I buy the Copenhagen Card?+
After purchasing, you receive an Order Code by email, which you enter in the 'Copenhagen Card City Guide' app. If you buy directly in-app, the card appears automatically. There is no physical card.
Is the Copenhagen Card available as a physical card?+
No. The Copenhagen Card is entirely digital and is used via the app. There is no physical card.
Is the Copenhagen Card worth the money?+
If you visit several attractions and use public transport, you will save compared to buying individual tickets. Just a few visits - such as Tivoli, Rosenborg Castle and the National Museum - cover a large part of the card's cost. Find out more on the Prices page.
Can the card be combined with other discounts?+
No, the Copenhagen Card cannot be combined with additional discounts or other city passes.
Validity & Use
What duration options are available?+
The Discover card is available for 24, 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours. The Hop card is available for 24, 48 or 72 hours.
How do I redeem and activate the card?+
After purchasing, enter the Order Code in the app. You activate the card when you arrive in Copenhagen - from that moment your chosen duration runs continuously. Find out more on the How It Works page.
When does the card's validity begin?+
The time starts from activation in the app and runs on an hourly basis - for example, 24 hours from the moment you choose to start.
Can several people share one card?+
No, each card is personal and non-transferable.
Do children travel for free?+
Children aged 3 to 11 need their own Copenhagen Card Kids at the child rate, with a maximum of two kids cards per adult card. Infants aged 0 to 2 do not need a card. Those aged 12 to 15 require a Junior card.
Do I need internet access while I'm there?+
No, once downloaded and activated the card works offline. An internet connection on the ground is not required.
Public Transport
Are public transport and the airport transfer included?+
Yes, the Discover card includes all public transport across Greater Copenhagen, including connections to and from the airport. The Hop card covers only the sightseeing buses. Find out more on the Public Transport page.
Are hop-on hop-off bus tours included?+
Only the Hop card includes hop-on hop-off bus tours. The Discover card uses the regular public transport network instead.
Is the card valid outside the city centre?+
The Discover card is also valid for day trips to destinations in the Capital Region, such as Roskilde, Helsingør and Hillerød, all reachable by the included public transport.
Attractions & Benefits
What is the difference between Discover and Hop?+
The Discover card covers more than 80 attractions plus all public transport including the airport. The Hop card covers around 40 attractions and hop-on hop-off buses, but does not include regular public transport.
Which sights are covered?+
More than 80 attractions in the city and surroundings, including Tivoli, the Zoo, castles and museums such as Rosenborg, the Glyptotek and the National Museum. The full list is on the Attractions page.
Can I visit the same attraction more than once?+
No, each attraction can be visited once at no charge per card. Additional visits to the same sight are paid separately.
Do I need to book visits in advance?+
A small number of attractions require advance booking, such as Home of Carlsberg. Most sights can be visited without a reservation.
Cancellation & Other Questions
Can I cancel or get a refund?+
According to the booking channel's terms, the card is non-refundable after purchase. We therefore recommend activating it only once you have arrived in Copenhagen and are ready to start exploring.
Does the card expire if I don't activate it straight away?+
No, the validity period only starts when you activate the card in the app. Until then, nothing expires - so you can buy the card in advance and plan at your own pace.
